About Me

I'm a proud Dominican-American who was born and raised on the East Coast, specifically, Massachusetts. I am currently enrolled at William James College where I am pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Global Mental Health. I'm very interested in the sociocultural and psychological implications of immigration policies. That said, the heap of my clinical experience has been in working with individuals who are diagnosed with chronic and persistent mental illness and/or are experiencing relational stressors. Beyond the world of psychology, I am a free food enthusiast and aspiring dog-mom who enjoys solo-traveling, music (open to recommendations), and beach days.

How I Work With Students

I believe that the therapeutic alliance is the crux of the therapeutic process. As such, I strive to develop a safe (non-judgemental, empathic, genuine) and collaborative environment for clients. I also believe that the way we cope with and carry out our inner and outer experiences has the ability to aid or deter us in pursuit of a more meaningful life. Throughout the therapeutic process, my aim is to help clients process their experiences, feel empowered, and cultivate the skills to live as meaningfully as possible in the midst of distress. That said, my theoretical orientation can best be described as integrative, specifically: Humanistic, psychodynamic and behavior therapies.
