How to Make an Appointment

You must obtain an order from an SHCS provider for either lab or x-ray services at SHCS. Once the order has been entered by your provider, please contact the appointment desk at (530) 752-2349 to schedule an appointment for lab services, or for an x-ray.

You may also schedule an appointment online via Health-e-Messaging.

UC Davis Student Health and Counseling Services takes pride in our health care team and it is our goal to provide quality Laboratory and Radiology services to all UC Davis Students. The Student Health and Wellness Center has state-of-the-art equipment for rapid results for both lab and radiology tests/exams.

Below is a list of the services available in the Laboratory and X-Ray departments.

Please note: We are unable to process lab and x-ray orders from non-SHCS providers. If you have UC SHIP please contact the Insurance Services department to obtain a list of servicing locations.

If you have private insurance, please contact your insurance plan’s customer service to obtain a list of servicing locations.

Laboratory

Phlebotomy (Blood draws)
CBCs
Urinalysis
Pregnancy Tests
Mono Testing
STI Testing
Skin and nail (fungus testing)
Various Chemistry Panels for Liver, Kidney, Cholesterol, Iron, etc.
Fasting Instructions: If you are instructed to fast before your test, do not eat for 12 hours – this includes food, juice, coffee or tea. Only water is allowed when fasting

Radiology

Digital Imaging for most General Types of X-Rays
No appointments necessary - Only X-ray orders from SHCS providers are accepted here. They are done on a walk-in basis
Preliminary results available same day service. Interpreted x-rays usually available next day
You can request a hard copy of your x-ray report or a copy of your x-ray images from the Release of Information (ROI). The radiology department will contact you via messaging through the portal when available. Please allow 24 hours to complete your request
