About Me
Shelbi Fisher is from Indiana and earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Florida State University. Outside of work, Shelbi enjoys reading, physical activity, and watching sports. She loves spending time with her partner and her goldendoodle, Mooney.
How I Work With Students
Throughout her training, Shelbi has been committed to working with the college student population. She has previously specialized in substance use assessment and treatment, as well as facilitating mindfulness groups. She hopes to provide a welcoming and non-judgmental space for students to grow and learn about themselves.
A life-long sports fan and former high school athlete, Shelbi has a deep appreciation for athletics as a vehicle for social connection, community enrichment, and advocacy. As a clinician, Shelbi hopes to support student-athletes through various challenges by promoting a healthy balance of thoughts and feelings, and incorporating consistent mindfulness practices. She strives for authenticity and acceptance in the clinical space and works from Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Systems perspectives.
