Academic Satellites
SHCS mental health clinicians are embedded into satellite locations to provide specialized support to students, staff and faculty at their respective settings. Satellite offices are located in UCD's professional schools, the Graduate Studies, each college's Dean's Office, and UC Davis Athletics. These campus partnerships offer counseling, consultations, outreach and workshops unique to students' well-being and academic goals within their chosen schools and careers.
SHCS policies and procedures around confidentiality of records apply to services provided by Academic Satellite providers.
In Support of the Counseling Services Mission
The Academic Satellites team provides student-centered mental health services, advocacy, outreach, and consultation to promote psychological well-being and academic success.
College Counselors
Embedded clinicians in each of the colleges are available through referral for students experiencing a barrier to centralized counseling services. Examples of barriers are family or cultural stigma against mental health services, past negative experiences with mental health services, and limited physical access to centralized locations. Warm handoff referrals are accepted from staff and faculty.
