How I Work With Students

My approach to working with students focuses on providing them with a supportive space to explore their thoughts, behaviors, feelings and experiences. I also aim to create a space for individuals to learn about themselves and explore their interactions and roles within their social settings which may be influencing patterns and behaviors they are experiencing. I practice from a cognitive behavioral framework implementing multicultural, interpersonal, systemic and person-centered interventions to assist in the process. I also provide therapeutic services in Spanish for individuals who may feel more comfortable speaking in their native language.
I work with all students and have a specialty area working with Latino mental health, BIPOC mental health, first generation students, emerging adulthood, anxiety, depression, life transitions and adjustment, multicultural topics, acculturation difficulties, family and social systems, identity exploration
