About Me

I am currently a doctoral intern completing my degree in Clinical Psychology and am originally from Southern California. I identify as Latina (Salvadoran-American) and a first generation student. I am fluent in Spanish and offer therapy in Spanish. My dissertation topic focuses on the development of an online, interpersonal psychotherapy intervention for symptoms of depression in a Latino emerging adult population. I am passionate about the provision of culturally comprehensive psychological services. Some of my personal interests include film, reality television, Pilates, travel, reading historical fiction, learning new languages, and small dogs.

How I Work With Students

My approach to working with students focuses on providing them with a supportive space to explore their thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and experiences. I also aim to create a space for individuals to learn about themselves and explore their interactions and roles within their social settings which may be influencing patterns and behaviors they are experiencing. I practice from a cognitive behavioral framework implementing multicultural, interpersonal, systemic, and person-centered interventions to assist in the process. I also provide therapeutic services in Spanish for individuals who may feel more comfortable speaking in their native language.
