Student Health and Counseling Services offers many programs, workshops, and presentations to the greater UC Davis community. Use this site to browse our programs, and request a program.

How to Request a Program

Health Promotion student coordinators are available to facilitate small and large group workshops for residence halls, fraternities, sororities, classes and other student organizations. These requests are filled based on student availability, so please request programs at least 3 weeks in advance to give time for communication, scheduling and logistics. Please note, these requests are considered on a first-come, first-serve basis and at times not all requests will be approved depending on the staff workload.

To inquire about a custom program that is not listed in the program offerings below from Health Promotion, please email shcs-hep@ad3.ucdavis.edu with the basics of your request. Highly customized programs will require development time during a winter, spring, or summer break.

All About Mental Health

This program is a mental health “crash course.” In approximately one hour, we will teach students the basics of mental health in addition to reviewing mental health resources on campus. If you would like a shorter program, please request the Mental Health Resources Kahoot. If you would like a longer and more comprehensive program, please request the UCD Mental Health Training.

Minimum Requirements: This program needs to be requested at least 3 weeks in advance with at least 5 participants in attendance.

Every Second Counts

Become a campus leader equipped with the skills to step up, care for your fellow Aggies and potentially save a life.
The Every Second Counts program at UC Davis empowers students to make decisions, take actions and care for their peers during time-sensitive critical moments. This workshop encompasses an interactive student-centered upstander training with an emphasis on alcohol-related situations.

Minimum Requirements: This program needs to be requested at least 3 weeks in advance with at least 5 participants in attendance.

First Year Survival Guide

We want our first years to go from surviving to thriving! This peer led program will walk first years through advice and information about wellness and mental health that is especially important to know in their first year here at UC Davis.

First Year Survival Guide

I <3 Birth Control

This is a peer-led interactive program where students will learn about different types of birth control and how to access birth control via a Kahoot.  

Minimum Requirements: This program needs to be requested at least 3 weeks in advance with at least 5 participants in attendance.

Learning Objectives
  • Participants will be able to identify different methods for pregnancy prevention, including hormonal and non-hormonal methods.
  • Participants will be able to identify methods of birth control that can also reduce the risk of STIs and HIV.
  • Participants will learn about where and how they can access birth control.

Mental Health Resources Kahoot

Pelvic and Menstrual Health

This is a peer-led interactive program that promotes education about menstrual health and pelvic health for people with a cervix via a Kahoot.

Safe Party Kahoot

Play a fun game to learn about alcohol, its effects on the body, partying safely, and how to be a good friend in situations involving alcohol.

Safe Party Kahoot

Sex Kahoot!

This program uses the interactive Kahoot! platform to test the audience's sexual health knowledge. By providing honest, accurate and inclusive information, the goal of the program is to empower students to talk about sex and reduce stigma around seeking resources.

Content can be tailored to the audience and/or specific sexual health topic upon request.

Minimum Requirements: This program needs to be requested at least 3 weeks in advance with at least 5 participants in attendance.

Minimum Requirements: This program needs to be requested at least 3 weeks in advance with at least 5 participants in attendance.

UCD Mental Health Training

This is a peer-led program for students to learn all about mental health, mental health resources on campus, how to support a friend or family member and more. This is the most extensive mental health program we offer. If you need a shorter program, consider our “All About Mental Health” program or our “Mental Health Resources Kahoot.”

Minimum Requirements: This program needs to be requested at least 3 weeks in advance with at least 15 participants in attendance. This program must be done in-person as there are multiple hands on activities that cannot be done over Zoom.
