ALERT! The National Weather Service has issued an extreme weather alert for the Sacramento Area beginning Friday, May 30th, 2025 through Monday, June 1st, 2025. Unseasonably high temperatures are expected to exceed 100 Degrees F. Avoid the outdoors during high heat times (Mid-afternoon to early-evening), Wear protective clothing and stay hydrated. How To Cancel Your Waiver

Students who have an approved waiver on file for the current academic year can elect to cancel their waiver and join UC SHIP at any time.
Students elect to cancel their waiver and join UC SHIP for many different reasons:

Aged out of their existing coverage (most plans will only cover dependents up to age 26)
Parental coverage was terminated due to the loss of a job.
Forgot to file paperwork in a timely manner, and thus were dropped from coverage.
Realized how amazing the coverage is with UC SHIP, and just had to join.

All you have to do to join UC SHIP is complete the Request to Cancel Waiver form, and submit it to the Insurance Services office at the Student Health and Wellness Center.
