How I Work With Students

Cultural humility and social justice are important foundations of my work. I use an integrative approach that draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and interpersonal approaches. Together, we can explore difficult experiences, better understand patterns in your relationships and life, and develop ways of responding that feel more aligned with your values. I also occasionally incorporate art-based tools to help students express and explore emotions in ways that may be difficult to put into words.
I work with students from all backgrounds and have particular interests in supporting international and immigrant-background students, as well as students from marginalized and underserved communities. I also enjoy working with concerns related to anxiety, identity development, adjustment and life transitions, eating concerns and body image, and OCD.

About Me

I was born and raised in China and spent most of my adult life on the East Coast of the U.S. before moving to Davis. As someone who has experienced moving between different cultures and communities, I understand that adjusting to a new place can bring both exciting opportunities and unexpected challenges. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, playing The Sims, hiking, and kayaking.
