How I Work With Students

I am committed to providing culturally sensitive, affirming care, and welcome all identities you choose to bring to our therapy room. I aim to create a warm, safe, and empowering space where we can collaboratively help you gain a deeper understanding of your emotions and challenges. I utilize Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within a multicultural, feminist, and social justice framework to guide clients toward their healing goals.
I understand that the world we live in and broader systemic issues can impact your values, behaviors, and problems. Therefore, I aim to help you understand these impacts so that you can work towards building a healthier, more enjoyable life within the contexts of your sociocultural environment. Together we can help you gain the tools, self-compassion, and confidence to care for yourself with whatever life brings your way.
I work with all students and have special interests in working with marginalized and underserved students. My passion and clinical focus include Latine students, first-generation students, undocumented students, adjustment, anxiety, depression, academic stress, career identity exploration, interpersonal relationships, intergenerational trauma, and anger.

About Me

I am a Health Service Psychology Doctoral Intern and am working under the undocumented students emphasis area. I am a firm believer in the importance of representation in higher education, and as a daughter of Mexican immigrants, I value
providing a supportive space for fellow students from marginalized/underrepresented communities. I am passionate about supporting our undocumented community and am engaged in advocacy throughout my clinical work and personal life. My clinical training has been primarily with Latine, marginalized, low-income, and first-generation students. I truly enjoy working with college students and find deep meaning in helping students during this remarkable period of their lives.
Outside of work, if I am not dancing under a disco ball or at a Harry Styles concert, I love swimming, thrifting, building puzzles, watching scary movies, having a girls' night, and doing nail art. I am a native North Californian but have lived in Texas for the past 13 years, so I am very excited to be back home.
