How I Work With Students

I am passionate about cultivating a safe space and therapeutic relationship with my clients that centers comfort and collaboration to explore forms of healing that best resonate with them. I utilize frameworks that uplift cultural humility, intersectionality, and social justice. As such, I see my clients as whole persons, intentionally making space for the communities and sociocultural contexts that clients may want to bring into the therapy space. My approach may include integrating interventions that stem from talk therapy, modalities like ACT and CBT, Mindfulness, as well as art therapy and psychoeducation. It's important to me to stay attuned to my client’s needs and preferences throughout our work together. I work with all students and have specialty interests working with underrepresented and underserved students (e.g., BIPOC students, first-generation students), Black/African American students, Chicanx students, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment and interpersonal dynamics, adjustment, identity formation, and grief.

About Me

I am a doctoral intern in the campus outreach emphasis area and a first-generation college/graduate student. I am a Black multiracial woman and was born and raised in Oakland, CA. My clinical experience includes working within community mental health, outpatient clinics, and college counseling. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog. I am also a lover of music, poetry, nature, and all things creative.
