Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) puts patients at the center of their health care. Patients benefit when they see the same health care provider over time. This continuity of care fosters an ongoing, cooperative relationship that allows your provider to better understand your specific needs for information and care.
SHCS provides UC Davis students with wellness, illness and injury care.
- Services are available to all registered students, regardless of insurance.
- Students pay small fees for most services.
- All medical services are located at the Student Health and Wellness Center.
- Schedule an appointment for medical services.
In order to better serve your needs in a timely and meaningful way please show up 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Beginning October 23, 2017, if you show more than 5 minutes late for your appointment you will be asked to reschedule and will be charged a $25 "No Show" fee.
Requirements for specific programs, course work and/or internships may include a $15:00 administration fee that may or may not be covered by your health insurance. In addition to the administration fee there will be charges for vaccines, medical clearances (Example: Respiratory N95 and Tuberculosis screening), and various titers. If you are not covered by ship these will be charged at non student rates. If you choose to have these completed by an outside provider, check with your program first to ensure your program will accept the outside results.
The Advice Nurse is a service available at no charge for all UC Davis students to discuss health concerns and the need for medical care.
Primary care appointments are staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses experienced in the medical needs of college students. The majority of the problems you may experience while here at Davis will be effectively handled in this clinic.
