Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) offers both medical and mental health urgent care services on the first floor of the Student Health & Wellness Center during normal hours of operation.
Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) provides UC Davis students with wellness, illness, and injury care. Services are available to all registered students, regardless of insurance. Students pay small fees for most services. All Medical Services are located at the Student Health and Wellness Center.

Whether you have the UC Davis Student Health Insurance Plan (Davis SHIP), Eye Med, Vision Service Plan (VSP), or are private pay, you can schedule an appointment with us for a comprehensive eye examination and/or have your eyeglass or contact lens prescriptions filled at our optical shop. Massage therapy can be beneficial in the improvement of many conditions and promote aspects of a person’s emotional, mental, and physical healing. Learn more about Massage Therapy.
Individual Counseling is confidential short-term therapy available to all registered UC Davis students at no charge. The initial appointment will help clarify if short-term individual counseling is recommended, and an appointment will be made with a staff member as soon as possible. If longer term counseling services are needed, referral to a community professional will be made. Individual Counseling appointments are located at North Hall. Learn more about Individual Counseling.
There are a variety of counseling groups to help students deal with stress, assertiveness, self-esteem, shyness, intimacy, loss, and eating concerns. Group services is a great way to meet with other students who can relate to one another. Students will find a forum of peer support, gaining strength as they share their feelings and experiences with other students who are facing the same obstacles as themselves. Groups typically consist of 4-10 students meeting weekly & are available to all registered UC Davis students. Learn more about Group Services

The Mind Spa
The Mind Spa is a resource available at no charge for all UC Davis Students and will soon be located at both North Hall and the Student Health and Wellness Center. The North Hall location will open later this year. The Mind Spa is a great place on campus to relax and utilize resources. With massaging recliners, biofeedback, and mindful relaxation resources it's a great place to de-stress before that big exam.
