Student Health and Wellness Center

The UC Davis Student Health & Wellness Center utilizes the newest technology and the latest trends in student healthcare to enhance student visits and delivery of care.

Nutrition Services offered at the Student Health & Wellness Center include individual counseling or group classes. Among the classes offered are cooking classes in our Teaching Kitchen and our Weight Management Series.

Eat Well, Live Healthy! Series

Eat Well, Live Healthy

Start 2016 off with a fresh start, sign up for Eat Well Live Healthy! This free five class series focuses on creating long-lasting habits for a healthy you. Each class covers a healthy body topic, and every class comes with a free giveaway and snacks! This series has a smartsite for support and resources. NEW this year: collect raffle tickets throughout the series for a chance to win a grand prize of a Fitbit during the last class.

Study Day Soups: The Ultimate Comfort Food (Hands-On Cooking Class)

Food On the Menu: White Root Soup, Vegetable and Grain Soup, and Hearty Bean Soup. Preparing a soup on the weekend provides hot, quick, and on-the-go meals throughout the week and makes for a great study day activity. The bonus of soup on the menu is that it helps keep a balanced, varied diet imperative to staying healthy under stress.

I ♥ Cooking (Hands-On Cooking Class)

On the Menu: Strawberry Smoothie, Red and White Salad Served with "Hearty" Entree, and Black Bean Brownies. This delicious line up packs a healthy punch! Come have fun learning how to make “Hearty” entree that incorporates heart healthy items like walnuts. This class is also packed with foods that have fiber that can improve heart health and is associated with maintaining normal weight.

Free produce* for UC Davis students? Why yes, don't mind if I do! Two locations for your convenience: Student Health and Wellness Center and The Pantry located at Lower Freeborn. *Produce will be given out on a first come first serve basis. This program is made possible by donations from Nugget Markets.

Stop by The Pantry to pick up your free fruits and vegetables. The Pantry also carries free produce donated by the UC Davis Student Farm in the Fresh Focus Program, contact the pantry to find out when and more details.



One Balanced Kitchen Cookbook

One Balanced Kitchen

This collection of recipes comes to you straight from the Teaching Kitchen cooking classes. Each recipe was created to inspire even the busiest student body to cook. You will find recipes that are easy to create, low in cost, high in nutrition, and short on time from start to finish. You will also find evidence based nutrition tips, tricks of the trade and cooking skills along the way. Continue to One Balanced Kitchen.



Individual Nutrition Assessments

Cost: $5 for SHIP students, $15 non-SHIP students.
Access: By appointment only.
Eligibility: All registered students.
Location: Third floor of the Student Health and Wellness Center.
Hours of Operation

Student Health Services has an in-house Registered Dietitian that provides nutrition therapy for a variety of nutrition related health issues including weight management, diabetes, heart disease, eating disorders and gastro-intestinal disturbances among other medical diagnosis.

Individual appointments for consultations include nutritional assessment, counseling and education to promote healthy lifestyle habits.

If you are interested in seeing the dietitian, ask for a referral from your provider. Appointments can be made at the SHCS registration windows at the UC Davis Student Health & Wellness Center or by calling (530) 752-2349.
