The UC Davis Student Health & Wellness Center utilizes the newest technology and the latest trends in student healthcare to enhance student visits and delivery of care.

Nutrition Services offered at the Student Health & Wellness Center include individual counseling or group classes. Among the classes offered are cooking classes in our Teaching Kitchen and our Weight Management Series.

Let's Dish! Cooking Competition

Ready… set… LET’S DISH! Join us at the Block Party for this Chopped-style cooking competition. Two teams will develop their own recipes using ingredients from the ASUCD Pantry and the Student Farm. A panel of judges, including the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Adela de la Torre will select a winning dish.

Spring is the perfect time of year to look at your habits and make some positive changes for a fresh start. This free five class series will teach you valuable lessons about nutrition, physical activity, meal planning, grocery shopping and more! Every class comes with a free give away, free snacks, and a chance to collect raffle tickets to win a grand prize of a Fitbit! Classes will meet:

Teaching Kitchen

Join the Teaching Kitchen for another round of FREE cooking classes. All cooking classes are designed with the busy student in mind. The classes are meant to provide cooking skills and affordable nutrition education, as well as inspire even the busiest student body to cook!

Picnic Day Prep Cooking Demo

Whether you are planning to create on the go snacks for Picnic Day or the spring weather has you thinking of picnics in the park, you must come to this class! In the spirit of Picnic Day’s zero waste theme, we will be preparing foods that are good for your body and the planet.

One Balanced Kitchen Cookbook

One Balanced Kitchen

This collection of recipes comes to you straight from the Teaching Kitchen cooking classes. Each recipe was created to inspire even the busiest student body to cook. You will find recipes that are easy to create, low in cost, high in nutrition, and short on time from start to finish. You will also find evidence based nutrition tips, tricks of the trade and cooking skills along the way. Continue to One Balanced Kitchen.



Individual Nutrition Assessments

Cost: $5 for SHIP students, $15 non-SHIP students.
Access: By appointment only.
Eligibility: All registered students.
Location: Third floor of the Student Health and Wellness Center.
Hours of Operation

Student Health Services has an in-house Registered Dietitian that provides nutrition therapy for a variety of nutrition related health issues including weight management, diabetes, heart disease, eating disorders and gastro-intestinal disturbances among other medical diagnosis.

Individual appointments for consultations include nutritional assessment, counseling and education to promote healthy lifestyle habits.

If you are interested in seeing the dietitian, ask for a referral from your provider. Appointments can be made at the SHCS registration windows at the UC Davis Student Health & Wellness Center or by calling (530) 752-2349.
