About Me
David received a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2005, working on viral vectors for gene therapy. For the next 15 years he worked on bacterial pathogenesis, microbial ecology, and bacterial genomics. The start of the pandemic drew him into public health where he helped set up COVID-19 testing at UC Davis, researched improved environmental surveillance for SARS-CoV-2, and worked on genotyping and sequencing the virus. He started at SHCS as the Public Health Coordinator in July 2022.
