The UC Davis Student Health & Wellness Center utilizes the newest technology and the latest trends in student healthcare to enhance student visits and delivery of care.

Nutrition Services offered at the Student Health & Wellness Center include individual counseling or group classes. Among the classes offered are cooking classes in our Teaching Kitchen and our Weight Management Series.

Free Nutrition Workshops

Eat Well, Live Healthy

Cost: Free.
Eligibility: All registered students.
Access: You must register to attend. To register, call the Appointment Desk at (530) 752-2349 or follow the instructions to register using the Health-e-Messaging Appointments Page.

Eat Well, Live Healthy! Weight Management Series

April 23rd through May 14th:

Want to manage your weight but aren’t sure how to get started? Come to the Eat Well, Live Healthy! weight management series to learn how to eat well, live healthy and feel your best. This series covers quick and easy cooking tips, physical activity, meal planning and more! The best part? It’s free to all UC Davis students.

All cooking classes are designed with the busy student in mind. The classes are meant to provide cooking skills and nutrition education as well as inspire even the busiest student body to cook!

Join us for a nutrition and food safety talk while YOU do the cooking with Student Health & Counseling Services’ Dietitian, Ryann Miller RD and our teaching kitchen assistant. Learn and practice knife skills, food safety, and basic cooking skills creating local and seasonal salads, smoothies and stir-fry.

Quick and Easy

Learn how to prepare a dinner from start to finish. A UC Dining Services Chef will lead you through tasty, balanced entrées, you will be able to make at home. Cooking 101: New Kitchen and Cooking Basics

Are you moving to a new kitchen? Updating your current kitchen? Join us for a basic student-life cooking class. Our student teaching kitchen assistant will walk you through the bare-bones basics you need to start your kitchen: how to stock your pantry, go grocery shopping on a budget, and demonstrate a quick, easy recipe you can make on your own. Registration on Health-e messaging requested, walk- ins welcome.


Individual Nutrition Assessments

Cost: $15 for all registered students.
Access: By appointment only.
Eligibility: All registered students.
Location: Third floor of the Student Health and Wellness Center.
Hours of Operation

Student Health Services has an in-house Registered Dietitian that provides nutrition therapy for a variety of nutrition related health issues including weight management, diabetes, heart disease, eating disorders and gastro-intestinal disturbances among other medical diagnosis.

Individual appointments for consultations include nutritional assessment, counseling and education to promote healthy lifestyle habits.

Scheduling an Appointment

If you are interested in seeing the dietitian, ask for a referral from your provider. Appointments can be made at the SHCS registration windows at the UC Davis Student Health & Wellness Center or by calling (530) 752-2349.
