Davis SHIP and Graduation, Filing Fee and Planned Educational Leave (PELP)
Whenever your registration status changes, your existing Davis SHIP coverage and your eligibility for Davis SHIP is impacted. If you change your registration status prior to the start of the term, your Davis SHIP coverage as a registered student will terminate once the new term begins.
If you have already registered for classes and you change your registration status after the first day of the term, your Davis SHIP coverage will continue and you will be charged accordingly.
If you do not wish to remain enrolled in Davis SHIP, you may file a Cancellation and Refund Request form with the Insurance Services office at the Student Health and Wellness Center and, as long as you have not utilized the plan benefits during that term, your Davis SHIP charge will be refunded.
Refunds will only be granted if submitted no later than the last day of the term the refund is being requested for. Example: A refund request for Davis SHIP fees charged for Fall term must be filed with our office no later than the last day of Fall term. If submitted beyond the last day of that term, the refund request will not be granted.
Davis SHIP members who have graduated may elect to enroll in one additional quarter or semester of coverage. Enrollment is voluntary and the student will be required to contact Well Fargo Insurance Services, our third party vendor, who processes and collects payment for all voluntary enrollment in Davis SHIP.
Davis SHIP members who go on Filing Fee are not automatically enrolled in Davis SHIP. Davis SHIP students who go on Filing Fee may elect to voluntarily enroll in the plan for one additional quarter or semester of coverage.
Planned Educational Leave (PELP)
Davis SHIP members who go on PELP are not automatically enrolled in Davis SHIP, but they may elect to voluntarily enroll in the plan. Undergraduate students may elect to enroll for one additional quarter of coverage. Graduate students may elect to enroll for up to two quarters or one semester of coverage.
Withdrawal from UC Davis
Students who withdraw from UC Davis are not eligible to continue their Davis SHIP coverage beyond their last registered term.
Cancellation of Registration
Students who cancel their registration at UC Davis are not eligible for Davis SHIP coverage. If your account was charged for Davis SHIP, you may request a refund of those charges.
Students who are dismissed from UC Davis and are currently enrolled in Davis SHIP may elect to continue their Davis SHIP coverage through the end of the term in which they were dismissed, or they may request a refund of those charges as long as they have not utilized their Davis SHIP benefits within that term.
Voluntary Enrollment in Davis SHIP

In addition, the cost of insurance (premiums) for voluntary enrollment is paid directly to Wells Fargo.
