Eligibility After A Registration Status Change
Whenever your registration status changes, your existing UC SHIP coverage and your eligibility for UC SHIP is impacted. Read this important information if you anticipate that your registration status will be changing (e.g., if you plan to graduate, go on PELP or Filing Fee, withdraw or cancel registration, or are dismissed):
- Graduating Students
- Planned Educational Leave Program (PELP)
- Filing Fee
- Withdrawal or Cancellation of Registration
- Dismissal

UC Davis Student Health Services provides information and counseling to UC Davis students regarding available healthcare and health insurance options. Appointments are available to speak with an insurance counselor by calling Insurance Services at 530.752.6055.
Conversion Options for UC SHIP Members
If you are a UC SHIP member and you leave UC Davis, you may be eligible for a Anthem Blue Cross conversion plan. Conversion coverage provides lesser benefits than UC SHIP and costs more. It is an option that members usually consider if their medical history or an existing medical condition precludes other health insurance options.

You may obtain a conversion packet by visiting Insurance Services at Student Health and Counseling Services or by calling 530.752.6055. The conversion packet contains cost and benefit information and an enrollment form.
Notification
If you change your registration status, you will NOT be individually notified of your loss of UC SHIP eligibility. Information regarding the impact of registration status change on UC SHIP eligibility is provided in the UC Davis Course Catalog, the Class Schedule and Registration Guide, and the SHCS insurance webpage. Anthem Blue Cross will provide a certificate to you upon cancellation of your membership, stating the beginning and ending dates of your UC SHIP coverage.
