Intended Audience

The morning program is intended for non-clinical and clinical college staff and faculty (clinical staff only for the afternoon). Non-clinical staff includes, Student Affairs, Residence Life, Dean’s Office, Academic Advising, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Campus Safety, or any other college departments. Practicing clinicians, medical doctors, and trainees on a campus community are encouraged to attend the full day. STUDENTS NOT ELIGIBLE.


Educational Objectives

  • Examine military/service member/veteran psychology as an area of multicultural competency.
  • Identify deployment cycle stressors as they relate to campus concerns.
  • Recommend outreach programming including non-clinical services, clinical services, and administrative support.
  • Develop campus-focused clinical case conceptualizations incorporating deployment-related experiences.
  • Demonstrate etiological framework and risk/prevalence of PTSD.
  • Gain knowledge of evidence-based treatments of PTSD including Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Continuing Education Opportunity

6.5 CE hours for licensed psychologists, social workers, & MFTs

UC Davis Counseling and Psychological Services is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. UC Davis CAPS maintains responsibility for this program and its content. CAPS is a Board of Behavioral Sciences approved CE provider.


Directions

Driving east on Interstate 80 from the San Francisco Bay Area or driving west on I-80 from Sacramento, take the Highway 113 exit towards Woodland. Take the Russell Boulevard exit and go east until you reach the campus. Turn onto Howard Way. North Entry Parking structure is on the left. All day parking - $7.00. Overflow parking in parking lot 15.
